Hi, I'm Satomi, a serial entrepreneur and mother of two. I moved from Tokyo to Amsterdam with my family in 2025.

An ordinary parenting problem

Not long after starting our new life here, I ran into a very ordinary parenting problem:

"How am I going to survive these long school holidays with two kids?"

As an international working mom new to the Netherlands, finding the right holiday camps for my kids wasn't as easy as I expected. There were so many great options, but the information was scattered across different websites. Finding and comparing camps by age, dates, location, activities and price took far too much time.

Two sides of the same problem

At the same time, I saw the other side of the problem. A sports club my child attends seemed to be struggling to reach enough families, despite offering a great program. It made me realize that there are great camps looking for families, and families looking for great camps — they just don't always find each other.

I wanted to help both.

Could this be much simpler?

As an entrepreneur, my instinct was to ask:

That question became CAMPOP.

Where the name comes from

The name CAMPOP comes from camp + pop. I wanted to create a place where new and exciting opportunities pop up like popcorn — making it easy for parents to discover great camps, while helping great camp providers get discovered.

More opportunities pop up. More kids get to discover what they love.

Starting in Amsterdam

Starting here in Amsterdam, CAMPOP is my way of helping parents spend less time searching, helping great providers reach more families, and giving kids more opportunities to explore, play, learn and grow.
